Without education it is impossible to imagine the present and future of each person. Without knowledge, you will not be able to get a prestigious position, earn a living, for your self-development. Lack of education leads to degradation. To prevent this, the state has created great amount universities that open their doors to new students every year and invite them to study interesting and in-demand modern world specialty. One of the universities worthy of attention is St. Petersburg Bonch-Bruevich University (a state-owned university in the field of telecommunications, abbreviated designation - SPbSUT).

Historical information

The history of the university, which exists in St. Petersburg, dates back to 1930. At that time, the Leningrad Institute of Communications Engineers was founded in the city. At the time of opening, it had 4 faculties: engineering and economics, radio engineering, telegraph and telephone.

The history of our country is reflected in the history of the university, as in a mirror. Teachers and students inscribed more than one glorious page in its chronicle. The educational institution went through the Great Patriotic War and contributed to the Victory. With the beginning of the war, many employees of the institute and students decided to defend their homeland and went to the front, and the departments began to carry out military orders. In order for the activity of the university not to stop, it was evacuated to Kislovodsk, and later it was transferred to Tbilisi.

The return of the institute to Leningrad took place in 1945, when the Great Patriotic War left behind. The development of the university began. New departments, laboratories were opened in its structure, a scientific and educational testing ground and an experimental television center appeared. In the period from 1960 to 1993, the institute was considered the leading university in its field. In 1993, the status and name of the educational institution changed. Now the institute has become the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after M. A. Bonch-Bruevich. It still operates under this name.

About the modern educational institution

Currently, Bonch-Bruevich University is located at the following address: St. Petersburg, Bolshevikov Avenue, 22k1. The educational institution is one of the oldest and most famous universities in our country. The university is considered a leader in the training of qualified specialists for the field of telecommunications and communications. A huge number of graduates have come out of its walls over the years of its existence. Many of them have achieved excellent success in life - they have become heads of industry companies, well-known scientists, public and political figures.

The university is an effective university. This is confirmed by the successful passage of regular inspections of Rosobrnadzor. In 2016, the university passed the procedure state accreditation. The university received a corresponding certificate valid until April 2019.

Rector of the university

The rector of Bonch-Bruevich University is Bachevsky Sergey Viktorovich - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. He was in the military in the past. Bachevsky began his teaching career at a military school. When I had to leave the service, the specialist went to the North-Western Correspondence politechnical University. He worked there until the liquidation of the university and its entry into the structure of the Mining University. There were no vacancies for Bachevsky in the new educational institution. The search for work led him to JSC "Avangard", where he took up scientific activities.

In 2011 Bachevsky Sergey Viktorovich came to the University of Telecommunications. Here he was appointed to the post of rector. Bachevsky was in this post for almost 6 years, but quite recently a shocking event occurred. In early 2017, the rector was detained by the Federal Security Service, as he was suspected of abuse of power. University staff do not believe that Bachevsky could have committed a crime, because he has always worked for the good of the university. While the investigation is ongoing, the university will be headed by Georgy Mashkov, acting rector, first vice-rector of St. Petersburg State University of Technology, professor.

The editors of the Telecomblog received a letter revealing a new round of conflict at the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich (SPbSUT) (Telecomblog wrote about this story earlier, and). In their new letter, university employees report the destruction of "the most promising faculty."

Dear fellow journalists!

We are very grateful to you for the support you have rendered to us, the team of scientific and pedagogical workers of the St. state university telecommunications them. prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich (SPbSUT) by placing our Open letter. At the end of August, an Appeal was sent to the email addresses of our teachers and staff, which you can also find in the attached file.

Unfortunately, the general situation at our university has deteriorated sharply, with its actions the new university administration has actually destroyed the Department of Information Management Systems (IMS), and with it the most promising faculty of St. Petersburg State University of Technology - the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies (ISiT) ...

31 August on general meeting professorial and teaching staff of St. Petersburg State University of Technology in his speech, acting. rector, prof. Bachevsky S.V. made it clear to those present that the problems raised in the media do not concern him, and he acts on the principle of "the dog barks - the caravan moves on." The pinnacle of "democracy" was only the fact of introducing 4 new vice-rectors to the university staff and that's all.

As it turned out, that wasn't all. The new administration has started a witch hunt! Now acting. rector, prof. Bachevsky S.V. reached a new level for itself - the level of destruction of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the former Bonch, for a start, taking aim at the most inflexible department - the department of IUS and the most uncompromising faculty - ISiT. Having replaced most of the vice-rectors, having changed almost all the heads of departments and a number of departments, the ignorant person who was raised up by the circumstances began to dismiss or lead to the dismissal of teachers, heads of departments and university staff.

On the evening of August 31, it became known that the leading professor of the Department of IMS, Doctor of Technical Sciences Moshak N.N. the contract was not extended to continue working at the department. On the same day, by willpower, the staff of the teaching and support staff of the Department of IMS was sharply reduced, and thus a number of employees of the department were left without work, including the leading specialist S.A. Sarajevo.

On September 1, on the Day of Knowledge, our university was visited by: Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications Dukhovnitsky O.G. and acting leader federal agency communications Malyanov S.A. Within one hour, the university staff had the opportunity to turn to higher-ranking bosses on personal issues. Professor Moshak N.N. was received by the leaders of the Ministry of Communications, had a 15-minute conversation with them, in which he raised the issue of his unexpected sudden dismissal, as well as issues related to general position affairs at the university and, especially, at the faculty of IS&T and the department of IUS, which (as we noted in the Open Letter) was subjected to personnel lawlessness (in accordance with the order of the acting rector Bachevsky S.V. No. 241 of 07/01/2011) and was illegally reduced by 7.7 PPP rates.

It would seem that the consequences of the visit to the leaders of the Ministry of Communications of Professor Moshak N.N. should have somehow softened the general situation at the university and at the faculty of IS&T. But it was not there. One can only guess why the leaders of the Ministry of Communications hid their heads in the sand, which was used by the head of Professor Bachevsky S.V. the next day, having signed an order to dismiss the head of the department of IMS, professor, doctor of technical sciences Kolbanev M.O. (with wording for repeated failure to perform official duties). Following this next lawlessness of the leadership of the University, the teachers of the Department of IMS in full force (and these are 20 teachers, of which 5 are doctors of technical sciences with work experience at St. went to work.

The circle is closed. Self-affirmation at the expense of the position acting. rector, prof. Bachevsky S.V. ended with the destruction of a workable, modern, highly qualified graduating department, the termination of all types of classes (more than 30 disciplines curriculum) with students of the Faculty of Information and Technology (most of whom are contract students).

It remains only to feel sorry for the students and their parents who paid quite a lot of money for education and were left face to face with the problem of the impossibility of obtaining quality education in the University, the leaders of which are people who apparently believe that behind them should be not intellectuals, but uncomplaining servants. It didn't work out. The teachers of the IUS department showed an example of inflexibility and will, and did not retreat under the pressure of the exploded, probably not colonels, but reckless ensigns.

Yours sincerely

SPbSUT employees who are not indifferent to the fate of their university.
