It is believed that they were previously asteroids captured by the gravity of Saturn.

There is a group of tiny moons close to the ring system. Their gravity affects the formation of rings and the preservation of their structure. They also create gaps between the rings.

Despite the great distance from the Sun, scientists have explored Saturn. 4 were sent to the planet space missions. In 1979, Pioneer 11 was the first to launch.
